Once you start to build your 5 star reputation, it’s important to start the process of marketing your reviews across your social media sites, your website and as many of the review and search sites as you can. You want to be able to put your brand along with those reviews in front of as many people as possible.

The reason for this is that on the internet today, review sites such as Angie’s List, Home Adviser, Yelp, Yellow Pages, etc., are now dominating the top pages in the major search engines. And there is a good chance that your next customer is going to find you on one or more of those sites.

Why is it Important to Market Your Reviews to All the Sites?

Did you know that 94 percent of people will read your reviews before they decide if they will buy your product or service? That’s a staggering number that is growing daily and that’s why it’s so important that local businesses pay very close attention to their online reputation. It can mean the difference in customers flocking to your company or going to your competitors

In other words, by syndicating your brand along with your reviews across the internet – the more established your business appears to potential clients.   When your company achieves a 5 star rating and your clients have provided incredible feedback about their positive experience, more people will be looking to do business with your company.  Consequently if a company has received bad reviews, the more likely a potential client will take their business to your competitor.

So how does a small business go about leveraging the power of a 5 star review to get more customers?

A couple of examples might help here…

  1.  A company’s reviews are now more important than their ranking on the search engines.  Just Google “the best” “industry” in your “city”.  You’ll notice the ones with the 5 stars before you’ll notice their position on the page.
  2. Online reviews are now trusted more than online ads, TV ads, text ads, and a company’s website.  In fact the only thing that out ranks a review in popularity is a personal recommendation.
