How to Create Great Content for People Who Hate To Write

content marketing-writer's block3 Easy Steps To Creating Content For Your Website

Creating content isn’t hard, once you conquer your fear of writing.  And by following this simple plan, you’ll be able to create engaging content in less than 30 minutes.

As an internet marketing specialist, I tell my clients that the one thing they need to do is provide their prospective client with information about the benefits of their product or service.  I also explain that the easiest way to do this is by writing a blog on their website.

The Challenge

By now you might be wandering why a blog?  And how will that help you?

I have found that there are three main reasons people don’t blog, which are:

  • Don’t have the time
  • Don’t know what to write about
  • Don’t know how to go about it

Well in this blog, we are going to overcome those challenges and show you how to create great content, not only for your blog, but also for your web pages, ebooks, articles, videos and webinars.

Time- Write a Blog in 30 minutes

The reason for a blog is simple – websites that have a blog receive about 55% more traffic than those that don’t.  And the second reason is – blogs are short.  You can write a 300 – 500 word blog very quickly, optimize it and have it circulating around the internet in about 30 minutes.

Subject- Solve a Problem or Answer a Question

The easiest subject to write about is one of the benefits of your product or service.  What problem does your product or service solve for your client?  What are the most frequently asked questions you get about your product or service?  Chances are, there are prospective clients out there that are asking the same questions and all you have to do is answer the question.

Create your content by solving only one problem or answering only one question! If there are multiple problems and questions – save them for another blog.

How to Write A Blog – Mapping Out The Structure

When I learned to create content and write a blog, I was given this “map” that I always follow.

  1. Decide who your audience is – who are you writing the blog for? (I’m writing this blog for people who hate to write)
  2. Choose your 1st and 2ndkeywordsand their variations. (Create content – content creation, creating content /Blog – writing a blog, blogging)
  3. Write your main headline/blog title (How to Create Great Content for People Who Hate To Write)
    1. Make sure it contains your main keyword
    2. Make sure you give it an H1 headline tag
  4. Write your sub-headline (3 Easy Steps To Creating Content For Your Website)
    1. Make sure it contains your main keyword
    2. Make sure you give it an H2 headline tag
  5. Summarize your blog in the first paragraph.  You only have a couple of seconds before your visitor decides whether to read your blog or not.  So if you can capture your visitor’s attention with your headlines – the next thing they will read is the first paragraph.  If they like what they read at that point – they will continue reading the rest of your content. (Creating content isn’t hard, once you conquer your fear of writing.  And by following this simple plan, you’ll be able to create engaging content in less than 30 minutes.)
  6. Clarify your summary in the remaining paragraphs, but keep it short and to the point.  No extra “fluff”.  Don’t waste your visitor’s time!
    1. You should include links to other pages within your website or another site to back up your statements (include keywords in anchor text for links).
    2. Add graphs or images (add keywords in the alt tags)
  7. Remind them what you told them in the last paragraph and include a “call to action.”

By following the above map, you will be able to write a blog in about 30 minutes and you can  also use it to create content for web pages, ebooks and webinars.  If you have any questions or comments, please include them below and I’ll be happy to answer them.
